Jean-Paul RIOPELLE, L'hommage à Rosa Luxemburg, 1992 (détail)[ * ]
The Editorial Board of AE is pleased to present volume 5. Cécile
Cloutier, our guest editor, has put together a volume dedicated to the
theme of poetics. She has assembled a collection of texts discussing the
notion of the praxis of creation. The very diversity of texts presented
gives us an indication of the multiplicity of potential avenues for discussion.
The dossier consists of five essays as well as an audio tape of a communication
by René Passeron, to whom contemporary reflections on poetics owe
a great deal. René Passeron's communication was recorded on August
24, 2000, at a colloquium dedicated to the theme: 'Faire œuvre: le
fil de la Mètis.' The colloquium was organized by the Center
of Art of Baie-Saint-Paul, under the direction of Bernard Paquet, on the
occasion of the Eighteenth International Symposium of the New Painting
in Canada. For the past several years, the Center of Art of Baie-Saint-Paul
has organized artistic events and international colloquiums on poetics.
We wish to thank Mme. Françoise Labbé, founder and director
of the Center of Art of Baie-Saint-Paul, for having accorded us the authorization
to reproduce the communication of René Passeron. Those wishing
to have the written version of Professor Passeron`s text will be able
to obtain it directly from the Art Center, which will publish the Acts
of the Colloquium shortly.
